When I was a seventeen year old high school student, I too played Counter-Strike until the wee hours of sunrise on a Tuesday... or Wednesday, depending how you look at it. I couldn't concentrate on school work and I I was itching to just not go so I could play the #1 online FPS all day. But that doesn't make much sense, does it?

Well, it does for Sophie “inzane” Regner, a former high school student from Stockholm, Sweden. Sophie dropped out because she was up too late playing the game and practicing with her all-female clan Pink Zinic and wanted to focus all of her time and energy to that.

Granted she does make some money during tournaments and she also models "for a friend" for money as well. But where will she be when Counter-Strike finally isn't the "it" thing anymore? Furthermore, what kind of parents let their child drop out of school for video games? Oh yeah, the parents of the 16 year old professional guitar hero player.

Whether you think these kids are under the line of intelligence (can you blame them, they don't have an education) or you think what they're doing is every gamer's dream, we wish them the best of luck. They'll probably need it when their hands are crippled by carpal tunnel and are applying for jobs at McDonalds.

Top teams from around the country gather at Lethal Gamers in Dallas, Texas for a showdown to determine who will represent the United States in Moscow.
Nearly six weeks have passed since the 2009 KODE5 USA Qualifier took place in Dallas, Texas. Now once again we find the best teams in the United States gathered at Lethal Gamers for what promises to be one of the most competitive tournaments on American soil this year.

From the start of the first round, nearly every match appears worthy of spectating. On top of the three American squads who recently played against the best in Europe at the ESL Global Finals, names like eMg, Pandemic, and X3O makes declaring a surefire victor nearly impossible.

Only the top team receives an invite to the 2009 KODE5 Global Finals in Moscow, Russia.

Throughout the event GotFrag.com will be bringing you live coverage of every single match as well as interviews, photo galleries, video and articles all weekend long! Also check out the KODE5 USA blog at usa.kode5.com.

1st.  Gravitas - Flight and accommodations at KODE5 Global Finals + Cases
2nd.  X3O - $750 + Five KODE5 Edition QPAD CTs
3rd.  Frag Dominant - $500
4th.  CompLexity - $250

Pwnage” is not a word we use without quotation marks to contain the massive levels of sarcasm, but there’s truly no other way to describe the Pubmasters‘ antics.  Because the designers of the English language just didn’t equip us for “four counter-terrorists stacked in a human column running in sync and shooting people, in an awesome manner.”  It’s not they foresaw.  It’s not something the Counter-Strike designers foresaw, in fact, as this expert clan abuse and seduce every glitch in the game into utterly unstoppable tactics.

Yes, they’re running around in a stack. Yes, that can be done.  No, probably not by you.

If you round a de_dust corner and see five men in a vertical stack, you’re dead.  Even if you kill one the others will demolish you, and even then your last thought will be “That rocks!”
